Last year my husband, Walt, and I participated in Worldwide Slow Art Day at the PEM (Peabody Essex Museum) here in Salem. We loved it, and have shared our experience with many people.
This year Slow Art Day is this Saturday April 16, and once again our lovely PEM is participating. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend this one, but we are still very enthusiastic about it, and hope to help get more people interested in this rather grass roots movement to slow down and appreciate things like art on a different level.
Here are some links of information for you. The first is the Slow Art Day website, and the second is a link to sign up for PEM's event. The participation in the event is free, once you are inside the museum. So, if you are already a member, or a Salem resident, you can get in the museum that way. Otherwise you would need to pay admission (or better yet, JOIN!)
I hope you do take this opportunity to do something very different, and slow down!

P.S. If you can tell me what is wrong with this painting, I will enter you in a drawing for a gift certificate for Lunch for two in the Tavern. Now you really will have to slow down just a bit!
