If you follow our Hawthorne Hotel blog regularly, you will already know how much we love to surprise members of our staff when we recognize them as our Employees of the Month.
Yesterday we surprised Tessa Brooks, as you can see in this first photo below -- she was startled and somewhat apprehensive when all of a sudden about 20 managers and other staff members walked into her workspace (the Tavern) just as lunch was getting going, to recognize her work on your behalf.
[Left to right, above: Claire Kallelis, Assistant General Manager and Director of Food and Beverage: Rebecca Cope, Dining Services Supervisor; Tessa; Juli Lederhaus, General Manager.]
Once she found out what we were up to, however, her great smile came shining through, and you could easily see how profoundly happy she was with our recognition of her work.
Tessa's co-workers, Kim Walsh and Angie Rovi, joined in the photo session, because they too were very happy about Tessa's recognition.
While Tessa has only been with us since October of 2010, the very fact that she started working for us during our busiest month of the year, and has not only survived October's craziness, but has thrived, and grown and developed over the intervening months validates the managers' unanimous decision to select Tessa as our Part-Time Employee of the Month for February.
Congratulations, Tessa! Thanks for all you do and keep up the great work.
Juli
