Let's Have a Party!

When I saw this photo on Amy Atlas' blog, I flipped! I just had to find out where those whimsical tassels were from!

They're from Confetti System, the magical makers of party decor.

Last year I purchased some little favors from Urban Outfitters, but had no idea that they were from Confetti System.

"CONFETTISYSTEM transforms simple materials such as tissue paper, cardboard, and silk into interactive objects that create a point of focus, where memories are made and a spontaneous collaboration with the viewer is sparked. CONFETTISYSTEM’s creations occupy the space between the ephemeral and the permanent, evoking a sense of nostalgia and lighthearted fun."

I would love to buy some tissue pinatas...

or fancy blindfolds...

I just need an occasion to throw a party...

Can we have one now?? You're all invited!

I'm Coveting...

Have you ever perused the website, The Coveteur? It's become one of my latest inspirations. The Coveteur gives you a sneak peek into the closets of the most influential artists, designers, fashion magazine editors and fashionistas around the world, photographing their most coveted items.

The Coveteur is pure eye candy. Look at these beautiful photos of Suzanne Rogers' interior. Aren't they stunning?

Beautiful, aren't they?

Happy June!

It's hard to believe that it's already June! While some of you are basking in or simply avoiding the sun, we are filled with cold and rain here in San Francisco. C'est la vie!

This lovely centerpiece was enough to brighten my gloomy day. Via Once Wed, the arrangement was inspired by Atlanta painter, Michelle Armas and her colorful and cheery works of art. Michelle's brush cup was used as the vase. Isn't it pretty?

Are You on Our List?

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I've been busy as a bee getting our newly acquired pieces ready for tomorrow's mailing. Which leads me to this question. Do you receive our monthly updates of our new arrivals?

Many of you have expressed that by time you arrive at the site, many items have already sold. By being on our monthly mailing list, you'll get "heads up" the day we add the new items.

So, don't miss out on another thing and click here to join our mailing list!

See you tomorrow!

Can you Guess?

We are in the process of making some subtle changes to the look and feel of Paris Hotel Boutique. Sometimes we all need just a little refreshing, don't you think?

Can anyone note the difference of one thing on the site? It even took me a moment to notice this one. This is sort of like Where's Waldo...

And, if you find it, do you like it?

I'll give you a hint...it has to do with color...

Bon Appetit!

You must check out this fabulous website that I found via Di at Designer's Block (Di always finds such interesting things...)

Petrelle, a restaurant in France, has re-created the sights and sounds of their restaurant via their virtual website. Listen to the chef talking, the phone ringing, wine pouring, the cutlery & dishes clinking & clanking, slicing & dicing. And it seems to go on for awhile as if they just kept the audio going. Very atmospheric and some striking images.

Well don't dilly dally here. Go and check out Petrelle's site here. So much fun! And thanks Di for the 'head's up!'

Do you know Melissa?

Melissa at her wedding in a Wearkstatt gown, vintage rhinestone earrings and alternated between two pairs of shoes, rhinestoned Vera Wangs and her favorite pink Prada peep toe pumps!

Melissa Davis is the creative mind behind the PR agency, Ruby Press in Northern California. I’m thrilled to call her a friend, and felt that it was about time to share some fun facts with you!

Melissa was a fashion editor in New York (at Harper's Bazaar and Mademoiselle) for 8 years before moving to California in 2000 and starting her own PR agency.

Melissa & Sam's first dance

Melissa and husband Sam’s magical wedding was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings. The talented Melissa planned every detail of the wedding herself, although the “Martha team” helped with some extra details, such as stylists (we all could use those, right?), extra flowers, and their own photographer. Be sure and check out Melissa & Sam’s wedding spread here. It’s amazing.

The menu card was tied atop a box of sweets...

A vintage Rolls Royce (with a turquoise interior) that they used to leave the reception!

Ruby Press represents style-related companies, from fashion designers & boutique shops, to the hippest restaurants and spas. Melissa is one of the most talented publicists around, a delight to work with, and has an amazing client list!

Custom stationery – iomoi

Melissa loves vintage. She frequents flea markets, antique shops and used bookstores for eclectic treasures. "My day trip to Brimfield was one of the best days of my life, hands down!" -Melissa

Melissa’s fun-filled blog is brimming with the latest trends, what Melissa and her team is currently obsessing over, what’s happening in their office, and what their clients are up to.

And speaking of offices, I’m crazy over Melissa’s. Perhaps a bit envious. (You know I am Melissa.) Impeccable taste with touches of fancy stationery & candles.

Melissa has a sweet tooth. Cakes, candies, cotton candy, ice cream... Guess we have that in common!

Ruby Press Bridal Soiree

Ruby Press’s events are the best ever. Not a detail overlooked!

If you're looking for a top notch publicist, you need to check out the Ruby Press website and blog. Plus, Melissa's such a fun gal to follow!

Houzz Inspiration

I was thrilled to get an e-mail from Robyn, introducing her new website, Houzz. If you haven't heard of Houzz, it is really amazing. A "Flickr type" of site for home decorating!

On Houzz, you can browse photos, get ideas from hundreds of designers from around the world, and save it all in your virtual idea book. You'll find everything from professional designers and architects, to non-professionals, sharing photos and source information. Searching for a specific paint color? You'll find it there.

The great thing is that you can browse by style, room, space and cities. A little overwhelming, but very inspirational!

I found myself perusing many of the photos in the "eclectic" section. Right up my alley. This office (above) was featured in Domino magazine awhile back. I think this would be my dream office, if only I didn't have my huge piles of paperwork!

Rather than ripping out magazine pages, you can organize everything online. Although, I still like tearing those pages out!

Upload photos of your own space and create your idea book...

So be sure and head over to Houzz and start your idea book! I promise you'll be there for awhile!
