Here is this week's newsletter from CinemaSalem, our wonderful local cinema.  This gem of a business shows not only first-run movies, but also shows many unique movies, so there is always something of interest going on there.

Two big special events at CinemaSalem this coming week. First, on this Friday, we premiere the only 3D movie ever made about the Salem witch trials, entitled The True 1692. We think you'll find it entertaining, engrossing, and fascinating.


Second, a week from Friday, on October 7, by popular demand, we're bringing back a midnight screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.


Plus, we've got a full schedule of our regular movies. Here's the schedule!

Now Playing: The True 1692 (NR); Dolphin Tale 3D (PG); Contagion (PG13); and The Help (PG13)!

We're devoting our Screening Room during the month of October to The True 1692, a film that's so new, there are no film critic reviews. You can be one of the first to enjoy it starting Friday when it opens exclusively at CinemaSalem. Once you see this 3D film, you'll never think of the Salem witch trials the same way again.


The True 1692 will screen on Friday at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00; Saturday at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00; Sunday at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00; and Monday-Thursday at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00.


We had one of our best September weekends in memory this past week, so we'll hold over the three movies in our big auditoriums, partially because at least two of the three are movies that people are interested in seeing more than once.

Dolphin Tale 3D will screen on Friday at 4:15, 7:00 and 9:20; Saturday at 11:30, 1:50, 4:15, 7:00 and 9:20; Sunday at 11:30, 1:50, 4:15 and 7:00; and Monday-Thursday at 4:15 and 7:00.
The Help will screen on Friday at 3:45, 6:45 and 9:40; Saturday at 12:30, 3:45, 6:45 and 9:40; Sunday at 12:30, 3:45 and 6:45; and Monday-Thursday at 3:45 and 6:45.

And Contagion will play at CinemaSalem starting Friday at (4:50), 7:15 and 9:30; Saturday at (12:00), (2:30), (4:50), 7:15 and 9:30; Sunday at(12:00), (2:30), (4:50) and 7:15; and Monday-Thursday at (4:50) and 7:15.

When you come to the movie theater this week, you might notice that the main door on Church Street (under the marquee) is under construction. Apparently, some rambunctious youth got a little too strenuous with the door hardware, so we're having it replaced. If you arrive at the theater and find the street door closed, feel free to enter through the Mall entrance. Silver lining: you might find yourself stopping at the Thai Place for a pre-movie dinner!
