Once Again, CinemaSalem Delights!

If you are coming to Salem to learn more about the Salem Witch Trials, you really need to stop in Cinema Salem and catch one of the showings of this movie: The True 1692.

Here is their newsletter if you want to read everything about the upcoming shows this week:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We got big crowds for The True 1692 over the weekend and even during weekdays. We heard a bunch of raves from audiences in the past four days, including these three: a) "Beautiful story, superb cinematography, great acting, and the best 3D I've ever seen." b) "Kudos for condensing a rich history into a concise 35 minutes. I thought the 3D was better than Harry Potter!" c) "This film is the perfect start for anyone curious about the Salem Witch Trials."
Read on to hear more raves. Because of a glitch (which we're working on), the 1692 showtimes aren't showing up on our webpage. So rest assured that between now and Friday, the film will screen at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00. 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00 pm.
If you're into Rocky Horror Picture Show, then CinemaSalem is the place to be this Friday at midnight for our once-a-year screen of the fun cult classic.
October is the most exciting month of the year in Salem, and the parking rates are certainly part of that heart-stopping excitement. The garage and parking lot rates on weekends are $20, which you prepay.
If you're a CinemaSalem customer, we can help! Just park in the Church Street lot, pay the $20, and then bring your CinemaSalem ticket stub to the lot after the movie, and they'll give you $15 back! It's not perfect, but it's not $20. There's also many free spots on the streets and reasonable meters if you plan ahead.
Now, on to the movies!
Now Playing: Real Steel (PG13); The True 1692 (NR); Dolphin Tale 3D (PG); Contagion (PG13); and The Help (PG13)!
Here are more raves for The True 1692: "The film is historical, but it's also entertaining and beautiful." "Engrossing, well-acted, informative and well-researched, very balanced." "I loved the 3D! The settings were beautiful and authentic-appearing. The film gives a different perspective on the witch hysteria, a more thoughtful approach." "I knew nothing of this period in history. The film presents a clear and coherent explanation of the circumstances and context of the Salem Witch Trials. Well done." "A masterpiece. This film was well-done in all aspects -- the production quality, the acting, the editing."
The True 1692 will screen on Friday at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00; Saturday at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00; Sunday and Monday at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00; and Tuesday-Thursday at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00.
New this week at CinemaSalem is Real Steel, starring the multi-talented  Hugh Jackman in a moving story about a father and son rediscovery in the futuristic world of robot boxing. Historically, film critics don't like robot movies, but this is the exception: "This is the 'boy and his robot' movie that Transformers always should have been." IGN Movies. "A father-son family yarn that shares the same sweet sentiment as the recent Crazy, Stupid, Love: that the best things in life are far from free - or easy - to obtain." The Sun Herald. "Although the marketing looks like Transformers 4, Real Steel is the real deal, a Rocky with robots that ought to have audiences standing up and cheering." BoxOffice Magazine.
Real Steel will screen on Friday at (1:30), (4:30), 7:10 and 9:40; Saturday at (11:00 AM), (1:30), (4:30), 7:10 and 9:40; Sunday and Monday at (11:00 AM), (1:30), (4:30) and 7:10; and Tuesday-Thursday at (4:30) and 7:10.
We're doing a little movie theater magic this week to squeeze five films into our four-screen theater.
Dolphin Tale 3D will screen on Friday at (1:50), (4:10), 6:30 and 9:00; Saturday at (11:30 AM), (1:50), (4:10), 6:30 and 9:00; Sunday and Monday at (11:30 AM), (1:50), (4:10) and 6:30; and Tuesday-Thursday at: (4:10) and 6:30.
P.S. I saw The Help when it first came to CinemaSalem, and cannot recommend it more highly!  Usually I am not too fond of movies made from books that I have really enjoyed, but this one did an excellent job of transitioning the story to the silver screen.  Do not miss it!
