The third series of the very popular latin dance party hosted by the JW Marriott, Baile Pachanga, kicked off the fall dance season in Grand Rapids with another phenomenal exhibition of music and dance. Once again, the ten-peice Grupo Aye delivered the hip swaying latin vibe once a stranger to the downtown scene. The dancers from the Arthur Murray of Grand Rapids produced a Hollywood caliber
performance that brought the house down.
performance that brought the house down.
Hundreds of dance enthusiasts, from beginner to professionals, partook in the group dance lessons prior to the band's first set.
"Ballroom and latin dancing is so popular right now, " comments Leslie Sharp of Arthur Murray. "We (Arthur Murray) is so excited to showcase the art of ballroom dancing to the general public. It's no longer an exclusive club. Ballroom and latin dancing is definitely for everyone to enjoy."
"The evening's atmosphere is so invigorating," says Carlos Sanchez, President of the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, an organization who has co-hosted this event with the JW from the very beginning. "I don't think you could find a more diverse event in West Michigan as our Pachanga parties. I can't wait 'till New Year's eve!"
The JW Marriott announced that the fourth installment of the Pachanga is slated for New Year's Eve. The event is slated to be a celebration of global dance. Hotel packages are still available by going to the hotel website, ilovethejw.com. The hotel package includes two tickets to the event.
