Something Fun to Do Tonight to Escape the Storm

We’d like to invite you to the final Summer Evening Party at PEM, beginning at 5:30 tonight. Stop by for a drink after work, some interactive art and some live blues! Tonight we focus on Ripple Effect with the theme “Waterworks,” and the weather seems to be playing along, so we’re moving the program indoors for a dry and comfortable evening. Come on down and escape the storm!

The event tonight features constellation pools by Watermist artist Joan Brigham, beautiful hand-built wooden surfboards by Grain Surfboards, an interactive sound sculpture by Andrew Sempere, and a large-scale art project which you can contribute to: “The Wave,” a hanging, dynamic, colorful representation of water in motion.

Chef Ken O’Keefe of the Hawthorne will show some blanching and steaming techniques for cooking with water that are perfect for fresh summer vegetables, and blues musician Dan Stevens will provide the soundtrack with tunes from America’s rivers and the Gulf Coast.

Got to love being in Salem, with all there is to do!
