A Fanciful View of the Hawthorne Hotel

Did you know that the board game, Monopoly, was invented on the site of the Hawthorne Hotel? There used to be an office building right here, and the Parker Brothers had their offices located it in. It was during that time that this popular game was invented.

So it seems appropriate to show you this illustration that we recently found on-line when doing research for something else. It seems as though this illustrator linked the Hawthorne Hotel to that historic event, even though the building was not here, and the game it technically set "elsewhere".
