Updates

Here are some "rest of the story" updates, on the life of the Hawthorne Hotel:

1.  I just posted on our Wedding Blog the follow-up photos sent to me by the Teague's.  If you read my story about Love that Endures, you will want to see this post.  Go to http://www.weddingsatthehawthornehotel.blogspot.com/

2.  Yesterday, as you can see in the blog post, we tried putting chairs out to protect the flowers in our flower boxes from the crush of parade watchers.  It seemed like it was going to work.  But alas, it did not.  Once the parade got going, the people sitting in them scooted the chairs out to the curb.  Then other people quickly filled in behind them, standing up against the planter boxes.  I spend the time of the parade coaxing folks away from the plants.  In addition, people were standing on our chairs, and refused to get down when we asked.  So, no more chairs for the parade.  Next year we have another plan in mind.  Stay tuned until October 2011 to see what we have up our sleeves.  Can you say "barbed wire?"  Not really, but the thought crossed our minds.
