Support for Local Schools Provided by Hawthorne Hotel Associates

During September, the Travel and Tourism Class from Marian Court College came to the Hawthorne Hotel for an orientation tour. Christine Turner, our Assistant Director of Catering, and Executive Chef Steve Nelson, gave of their time and talent to help these students see more of the real life business they hope to be a part of some day.

Dear Christine,

Many thanks for providing us with a tour of the hotel, featuring the energetic and engaging head chef, Steve. Today, I spoke to the class, and they passed in their evaluations of their experience on Monday. Asked if they wanted to do this again, they enthusiastically said, "Yes!"

So, you will see an eager group of hospitality students next month as you show them around the rest of the hotel.

I asked them if they agreed to have you use their pictures in hotel material, and they agreed to this, so please do as you wish with the photographs. I am happy to have the college have some media exposure, and I'm sure that Gretchen feels the same.

We all especially enjoyed your presentation and your candid views on work and experience in the hotel industry.
