For those of you "in the know," there's an intimate room located inside the JW's main kitchen. The Chef's Office is an intentionally designed office for the culinary chiefs and also the hotel's "closing room" for the JW's top clients. This is a standard for JW's in the world and is slowly becoming a staple at other Marriott brands.
"This is where we wine and dine our top guests before or after contract negotiations," says Executive Chef Andrew Voss. "I couldn't think of a better venue to close any deal. The champagne is within easy reach once the contract is signed."
This office during the day, dining room by night, is fully equipped with custom stainless steel shelves, cabinets and dining table by ArtPrize steel sculptor, Steve Fidler. The room also includes a flat screen television, ipod docking speakers, wine shelves and coolers, original photographs by Michael Buck, track pin lighting, and more importantly, the personal attention of our chefs.
The chef's office is also available for intimate gatherings for up to six guests (though we've done eight). The culinary team will create a custom designed menu and wine pairings for each dining group. Dinner packages start at $125.00 per person plus wine pairings. A true value given the costs of kitchen dinners in other cities.
What I like the most is that every single guest who dines in the Chef's Office leaves with a better understanding of what happens behind the scenes in the kitchen. And it definitely helps to know someone in the kitchen on their next return visit to the hotel's signature restaurant, six.one.six. Who doesn't love some special attention from a chef?
