To raise awareness for Susan G. Komen Foundation, six.one.six mixologist, Kellie Rowland, concocted the JLe Dragon martini in honor of GR social media dragon, Jimmy Le, who is dancing the cha cha in the Dancing for the Cure with Arthur Murray celebrity event in the JW Marriott this Friday evening. $2.00 of every jle Dragon martini sold between 5PM and 8PM will be donated to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
"I'm deeply honored to have a drink named after me," says Jimmy Le. " I hope all my friends come out and support me in this effort to raise awareness for breast cancer."
The timing couldn't be more perfect.
The much awaited Google Fiber Rally for Grand Rapids, which was planned by friends Pete Brand, Jimmy Le, Laura Caprara, Tommy Allen, Tommy Fitgerald, Todd Ernst, Richard App, Jennifer Phillips Wilson, Paul Jendrasiak and company commences at around 4PM at the Calder Plaza. Many local downtown establishments, including six.one.six and Mixology at the JW, are offering Google Fiber specials immediately after the rally which is expected to draw over 10,000 fans (so far, nearly 30,000 fans belong to the Google Fiber Grand Rapids campaign).
Mixology and six.one.six is offering a "Google" Flatbread and any draft beer for $10.00
The weather for GR is expected to soar to 55 degrees on Friday. March 19 has the making of the perfect storm to promote the energy in the city.
Dancing for the Cure general admission tickets for $50 are still available on their facebook website.
